These activities are always available and the children are able to choose their own medium - paint, crayons, etc.  There is no right or wrong way of painting and drawing; the children are encouraged to express themselves freely and at first may simply wish to cover the paper with colour.

We have opportunities to share in the enjoyment of singing, music, movement, dancing, reciting and rhymes, and there is a selection of musical and percussion instruments available for the children to try.

Various props, farms, garages, dolls furniture and dressing up clothes give the children the opportunity to act out imaginary situations based on real life.​​​

Children find these fascinating and need not get in a mess in the process, as plastic aprons are provided.  Their play allows the children to learn about the properties of liquids and solids.

We have many large sit 'n' ride toys, rockers, bikes etc. for use in the garden, as well as a climbing frame, slide and swings.  We also have a large variety of balls, bean bags, skipping ropes and other smaller toys to encourage hand/eye coordination and physical development, which we can use indoors or outdoors.

These include Brio train, Duplo and Duplo tools to help develop manipualtion skills and basic mathematical concepts about shape and size.

Books for all ages and levels of ability are available at all times for the children to handle and for adults to read to them.

Cutting and gluing activities are messy, but they give the children the opportunity to experiment, to learn manipulation skills and discover shapes.

These include nature walks, cookery, visits to local groups, outings etc.
